Devil's claw

The name "devil's claw" comes from an organic peculiarity of this exotic plant: its 7-20 cm long woody fruits "claw" with small, claw-like barbs into the fur of animals or on the clothes of people who pass by them and spread in this way.

Taste. Both the leaves and the roots taste very bitter.

Effect. It is now known that the numerous ingredients of devil's claw actually enable a wide range of applications. For example, so-called iridoid glycosides, which are bitter substances, can alleviate some digestive and gastrointestinal complaints. These bitter substances can also slow down inflammatory reactions in the body and gently relieve pain.
