Taste. Stoneberry has a pleasant sour taste similar to currants.
Effect. The tannins in some parts of the plant make them astringent. The decoction of the root can lead to relaxation of the intestines. Stoneberry is also used for cramps and whooping cough. The leaves are rich in tannins, they contain flavones, anthocyanidins, traces of essential oil and organic substances.
